') il progetto artigianato artistico galleria d'arte contatti il progetto l’officina nasce nel 2012 per iniziativa di maria giuseppina caldarola, laureata in agraria, interessata alla valorizzazione e promozione della filiera lana, canapa ed altre fibre tessili e pierfrancesco caprio, ingegnere, studioso di architettura, arti visive ed urbanistica. l’obiettivo è ricercare e far conoscere tessuti e tecnologie tradizionali, perché conoscere le capacità tecniche del passato è strumento di conoscenza della cultura e della storia sociale ed economica dell’epoca cui i manufatti si riferiscono. contemporaneamente, si vuole perseguire un’idea di innovazione che mira, da un lato, all’eco-sostenibilità del manufatto tessile lungo tutte le fasi della produzione e dall’altro all’interazione artista-artigiano. mettere in relazione l’arte, gli artisti, con il saper fare manuale proprio degli artigiani, con un focus privilegiato su quell’artigiano in via di estinzione che può considerarsi il tessitore. due settori, due campi d’azione: artigianato e arte, i loro possibili intrecci e connessioni, un aspetto culturale che ha origini lontane e che, con la nostra iniziativa, vorremmo approfondire, coinvolgendo e offrendo a chi fosse interessato a questo filone di ricerca uno spazio fisico per esporre e comunicare il proprio punto di vista, la propria personale visione. questo progetto muove da una ricerca sui legami tra artigianato ed arte e, partendo dalla constatazione che viviamo in un momento nel quale la frammentazione delle arti visive, ma anche dell’architettura, si traduce nella difficoltà di esprimere e trasmettere un’identità ed una cultura consolidate, si propone di sperimentare una possibile riunificazione delle espressioni artistiche oggi presenti, pur nelle diverse specificità. nel dettaglio, si parte dalla constatazione che la produzione tessile artigianale possiede essa stessa una propria forza espressiva, che si contrappone all’uniformità e alla banalizzazione del prodotto industriale presente nel nostro quotidiano, ed è qualcosa che trascende quasi la materialità poiché evoca, rimanda ad una origine, ad una storia. si può dire che un manufatto tessile possiede una vita propria, una sorta di anima, un esprit che si trasmette a chi sa apprezzarlo ed è ciò che puó interagire con l’arte, offrendo una sponda espressiva agli artisti. d’altronde questi hanno sempre manifestato la loro creatività anche con mezzi non tradizionali, basti pensare che la creazione di tessuti ha intensamente e significativamente toccato molti movimenti artistici tra fine ottocento e novecento, per citare i più vicini a noi: le secessioni, l’art nouveau, la arts and crafts di william morris, il bauhaus, per arrivare agli anni ’50 con le contaminazioni dell’informale e della pop-art fino ad alcune attuali forme espressive. l’officina d’arte&tessuti; è nata anche per inviare questo messaggio all’arte ed alla cultura. come una vera officina vuole costruire idee ed esprimerle. la bellezza come pensiero che deve attraversare la nostra presenza nella storia. la collocazione dello spazio fisico a spoleto è poi sembrata opportuna per diversi aspetti: dal punto di vista della cultura tessile, esiste in città un museo del tessuto e del costume, che raccoglie manufatti dal xiv al xx secolo, esistono in zone limitrofe artigiani tessitori e artigiani restauratori di antichi e preziosi tessuti nonché archivi tessili privati; sotto il profilo artistico, va ricordato che a spoleto nacque lo scultore leoncillo, qui si formò il “gruppo di spoleto”, qui fu organizzato l’evento “sculture in città” cui parteciparono artisti di fama internazionale quali calder, chatwick, franchina ed alcune di quelle opere possono ancora ammirarsi passeggiando in città. esiste in sintesi un background artistico, sostenuto anche dalla presenza di importanti istituzioni culturali. © 2013 officina d’arte e tessuti / via plinio il giovane, 6/8 - 06049 spoleto (pg) / [email protected] / credits.
